Tallinn is introducing new rules for rental light vehicles – clearer guidelines on speed, parking, and markings.

👉 Parking is only allowed in designated areas.

Parking is prohibited:

👉 Within two meters of public transport stop shelters

👉 On narrow sidewalks less than 2 meters wide

👉 On bridges, in tunnels, and near intersections

Speed limits depend on the area and time of day:

👉 Old Town and areas near schools/kindergartens: 10–15 km/h

👉 High-traffic areas in the city center: maximum 20 km/h

👉 On Friday and Saturday nights (21:00–07:00): maximum 17 km/h

 What else is changing?

👉 Rental vehicles must clearly display the company name and contact phone number

👉 Vehicles must be equipped with technical solutions to enforce speed and parking restrictions

👉 Improperly parked vehicles must be relocated by the service provider within 3 hours (07:00–23:00)

Compliance with the new regulations will be monitored by the Tallinn Municipal Police Department.
